PE sports funding 2016-2017
So far, we have, again, spent a proportion of our sports funding on in-house training for staff. This has included training for a new PE scheme called 'Real PE' which we hope will engage all pupils and make PE even more inclusive. Staff are happy with the Slanted Dance scheme which we purchased last year but would like a better scheme for gymnastics and ball skills so we hope to address this by spending the money on the new scheme. On top of the training itself, money has been spent on the resources.
Further money has been spent on training for the subject leader to gain a level 4 qualification in PE subject leadership. This is an AfPE recognised course.
We have been lucky enough to be selected a second time for a competition between schools, ran by ASPIRE. Therefore we have again spent money on transport to the academy to take part in this, as well as the cost of the games themselves.
We plan to spend further funding this year on outside PE equipment for lunchtimes to help children practice the skills they have learnt in their lessons.
Sports Funding 2015-2016 -£8,531
As in previous years, we have spent much of the Sports Funding on improving the expertise of staff.
Mrs Boxall is taking a P.E.qualification. £1,300
Real P.E. training for all staff - £1,600
Additional dividers for the playground - £2,000
Playground equipment -£ 327
The pupils are responding well to Real P.E. The children have to work on their own programs and develop their individual skills. All pupils are winners in that they are setting and meeting their own challenges. The scheme uses stories, music and task cards and the pupils have ownership of their own progress. This is a real hit!
